Athletics at Mariano Lake Community School

Mariano Lake Community School Bobcats participate in lively athletic competitions to build strength, character, and community. Students enjoy opportunities to learn and grow outside the classroom. Sports provide an exciting way for students to maintain health and fitness while learning the values of teamwork and sportsmanship. Our school community can witness the principles of our Navajo Plan in action throughout our athletics program.

Cross-country

Any student who enjoys the outdoors and running across landscapes is sure to find a place on our cross-country team. Running is a way to maintain heart health, lung capacity, and muscle strength. Cross-country is an individual and team sport. For students who enjoy the solitude of individual competition but also like the camaraderie of team sports, our cross-country team is the perfect fit.

Basketball

Our most popular sport is basketball, a team sport that appeals to student-athletes who enjoy being on a team. Like cross-country, basketball offers exceptional opportunities to improve the body’s overall health. Basketball also improves agility, ball handling, hand-eye coordination, and reflexes.

For more information about our athletics program, please call us at 505-786-5219 or 505-786-5265.
